Make a map of an ordinary work session
Write down the keys you use without looking: a number pad, Home and End, screenshot, volume, function keys and modifier combinations. Then mark which need a dedicated key and which you would comfortably use through a function layer. This produces a more useful comparison than counting keys alone.
For spreadsheet entry, repeat calculations or accessibility shortcuts, an extra key combination may interrupt a familiar routine. For a travel setup, that same compromise may be acceptable. Trace the commands on the exact regional layout before buying; a photograph of another country’s version can hide a meaningful difference.
Separate language layout from operating-system mapping
On the K380s, Logitech describes split modifier labels and automatic OS detection over Bluetooth. Its manual lists three-second overrides: Fn+O for macOS, Fn+I for iOS, Fn+P for Windows/Android, and Fn+C for Chrome. K380s setup reference.
Those mappings do not replace your device’s selected language or keyboard layout. If a symbol appears in the wrong place, compare the physical key legends, the operating system’s language settings and the keyboard’s OS mode as separate checks. Changing all three at once makes it harder to identify the cause.
Before relying on a tablet workflow, check the particular shortcuts your apps recognise. A key that opens one function on a desktop may do something different on a mobile operating system.
Know when you are switching and when you are pairing
K380s supports three paired devices. Logitech distinguishes a short Easy-Switch press to select a paired device from holding that channel for three seconds to begin discovery. Fn+Esc changes media/F-key behaviour. Switching and Fn mode.
Assign a stable channel order, such as laptop, tablet and second computer. Before typing into a private document, confirm which device has focus. If a connection appears to be missing, check channel selection and the current function-row mode before removing a working pairing.
Choosing a channel does not establish simultaneous typing on all three devices. It also does not mean a separate mouse has automatically followed the keyboard.
Treat customisation as a software dependency
Logitech documents ten customisable shortcut/media keys through Logi Options+, including app-specific settings. This is not a promise that every key is fully programmable or that identical customisations work on every host. Supported customisation.
Check the current Options+ operating-system requirements and feature compatibility for the computer where you need the change. A keyboard’s broad Bluetooth compatibility is different from the availability of its configuration app. Work-device installation permissions matter too. Current Options+ requirements.
If your choice depends on one custom shortcut, confirm that exact use before committing. Tidcore has not tested the K380s layout, pairing or software behaviour; these checks are a decision method based on the cited documentation.
Put the checks next to a real example.
